Our Review of Cecilia Beretta Prosecco – Treviso

Upon opening the bottle which is always fun with a sparkling wine. It reminds me of New Years eve. This prosecco sure sounded like it would be tasty, but then they all do at that point.

My wife and took the first tastes and both of us agreed that while it labelled as being extra dry it was not noticeably dry. It was not as sweet as many sparkling wines but you were not left with a feeling of it being too dry.

Tasting Cecilia Beretta Prosecco

The acidity is nicely balanced and there is a very pleasant aftertaste on the on the tongue. We moved on to trying it with some french cheese and mixed nuts. A good test for any Prosecco.

So what is our opinion of Cecilia Beretta Prosecco which we bought from Dierbergs grocery store for around $10?

This is definitely a Prosecco that we will buy again!

Enjoy. As a follow up we started experimenting with some Prosecco mixed drinks which I didn’t really want to do with this Prosecco. It seemed to be  so good by itself but we did anyways. We had 2 failures and one that turned out so good we had another. I will share this in a post in the next few days.

As another aside, I am always saying to my wife that once you open a sparkling wine regardless of if it is Champagne or Prosecco you better finish the bottle. I always insisted that there is no good way to reseal the bottle. Actually this is not really true. If you must seal up the bottle after opening try this. Use the metal cover and wire mesh from the bottle ( if you do not destroy them on opening and reseal it.)  See the picture below.
